CLC Software Request Process for SPRING 2017 Now Open!

EdTech is opening up the Computing Learning Center (CLC) software request process for instructors who need specific software packages installed in computer learning centers across campus.

The software request web-based application is available on the EdTech web site.

  1. Go to edtech.mst.edu/clc/.
  2. Click Request Software (Faculty).

Please enter all software requests before close of business on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2016.

Software must be requested for each semester in which it will be used!

Software currently available in each of the CLCs on campus can be found on EdTech’s CLC index page.

  1. DO submit requests in a timely manner to ensure the best possible support from IT and EdTech.
  2. DO submit requests for software that is already installed. This helps IT and EdTech determine how each application is currently being used and which licenses need to be renewed.
  3. DO submit requests for software for which the license has not been acquired. We need to know which software is requested to obtain the proper licenses!

EdTech is opening up the Computing Learning Center (CLC) software request process for instructors who need specific software packages installed in computer learning centers across campus.

IMPORTANT FOR FALL 2016!

IT is planning on upgrading CLC computers to Windows 10 and Office 2016. We will make every effort to ensure software compatibility with these changes, but we NEED you to submit software requests in a timely manner so we have sufficient time to perform testing!

The software request web-based application is available on the EdTech web site.

  1. Go to edtech.mst.edu/clc/.
  2. Click Request Software (Faculty).

Please enter all software requests before close of business on FRIDAY, APRIL 22, 2016.

Software must be requested for each semester in which it will be used!

Software currently available in each of the CLCs on campus can be found on EdTech’s CLC index page.

  1. DO submit requests in a timely manner to ensure the best possible support from IT and EdTech. This especially important this year as we are upgrading to a new operating system (Windows 10) and also upgrading to Office 2016.

Upgrades to Classroom Technology for Fall Semester 2012

Educational Technology has performed the following technology upgrades to classrooms and computer learning centers (CLCs) for Fall Semester 2012:

  • All CLCs now have Windows 7 installed.
  • All instructor stations in both classrooms and CLCs now have Skype installed.
  • All CLC machines now have the following upgrade software installed:
    • AutoCAD 2012
    • Maple 16
    • MathType 6.8
    • Matlab 2012a
  • The following CLCs now have upgraded computers installed:
    • Campus Support Facility 114
    • Centennial Hall 105
    • Emerson Electric Hall 106
    • Emerson Electric Hall 107
    • Engineering Management 222
    • Engineering Management 235

Reminder: CLCs and Classrooms are upgrading to Windows 7

Windows7-small.png EdTech and IT will be upgrading all of the computers in the classrooms and several of the Computer Learning Centers (CLCs) to the Windows 7 operating
system.

Classroom upgrades will be completed by June 6, 2011. Several of the CLCs have been upgraded. Throughout
the summer, several others will be converted. ALL CLCs are expected to be
upgraded to Windows 7 by Summer 2012.

of the features that exist in all versions of Windows have been improved for
Windows 7. This change is for the betterment of the students as well as the
faculty and staff of Missouri S&T.
